Welcome to Stekvasselv
Stekvasselv Farm is located by Nord-Røsvatnet in Hemnes municipality on inner Helgeland - with Okstindan and Okstindbreen as a background. The area is beautiful and varied with hiking terrain of all levels of difficulty and several marked hiking trails.
Stekvasselv is a great starting point for hiking, summit hikes, canoe and boat trips, fishing and hunting. If you prefer to travel in beautiful nature where there is plenty of space and far between people, then this is the place for you.
We, the hosts, Kari and Håkon Økland, live on the farm and our place is therefore open all year round.
By advance agreement, we can offer serving of meals - preferably with elements of short-distance food - or buy provisions if you arrive here on foot. We are also happy to share some of the history from the area with you.
Here are two fully furnished residential houses with everything needed for self-catering including bed linen and towels. You can either rent a room with a bed and pay per. person or rent the whole house. Free Wifi.
How to get here?
There are airports in Mo i Rana and Mosjøen with several daily departures to Bodø or Trondheim and the Nordlandsbanen station at Bjerka. There is a local bus route from Mo i Rana to Bleikvasslia. Pick-up there, in Korgen or at Bjerka can be arranged.
If you come by car from the north, take off from the E6 in Korgen towards Bleikvassli and on from there towards Røsvatnet.
If you come from the south, "Villmarksveien" can be an alternative. Then take the E 6 just north of Majavatn towards Fiplingdal and Hattfjelldal and on to Bleikvassli along the west side of Røsvatnet.
If you come on foot, it is easiest to follow the "Nordlandsruta" from the north or south.
At the video under you are invited to a small flight around Stekvasselv with a view of Røsvatnet and towards Okstindan in the background. Espen Jakobsen has filmed with an HD camera from model aircraft. Enjoy yourself!
